Farmers Markets in the Greater Seattle Area

Farmers Market in Seattle

In the warmer months, it is a weekly tradition for me to stop by one of the farmer’s markets in the greater Seattle area. It’s a great way to support local businesses and get some fresh groceries. Over the years, I have accumulated a fair share of basket bags that I get excited to fill with produce and some flowers at the market.

As we continue to adjust to the new normal, most farmers’ markets have moved away from being a community-gathering place to a quick-in-and-out shop for essential food shopping. To avoid much contact most have removed ready-to-eat foods and activities. They are operating in smaller capacities with social distancing enforced for participants.

A few things to keep in mind :

  • Masks are required

  • Some markets have a shop online and pick up at market service available as well as home delivery options.

  • There may be time restrictions due to distancing guidelines; only a certain amount of people can shop at a time.

  • To avoid much contact, vendors will be bagging your purchases

  • Most markets advise you to leave your dogs at home except for service animals
